CURATE EFFECTS CONTRAST REPORT QUARTERGAO vs ANTIBIOTICS

กกTo treat clinical mastitis in lactating cows, we are strong recommending QUARTERGAO , ointment as it easier to apply, faster its curative effect. No any remedy residue or milk withhold after treatment for lactating cows. Low price for dairy herds. Now the milkers very like use this external use ointment as it can rise their income (The herd's rule say: if rate of clinical mastitis higher, the milkers' salary will be lower ) The fact is: now QUARTERGAO is used by milker instead of the veterinary because the milkers have at least 2 times milking or patrol in herd daily. QUARTERGAO let the vet almost nothing to do for clinical mastitis cases. Because most of initial clinical cases were eliminated by milkers' hand as soon as they find it. Following contrast report we provide is for your reference:

1. categories of cow clinical mastitis and the therapeutic evaluation:

1.1 Clinical mastitis with its clinical symptoms can be divided into four basic categories:

1.1.1 Subacute mastitis: The first symptoms of mastitis occur: changed appearance of the milk , have clots in initial milks, swelling of the udder or not, but no other symptom.

1.1.2 Acute mastitis: Swelling of the udder, abnormal milk: clots, flakes or have flakes later. But no pain, no other symptom.

1.1.3 Severe systemic mastitis: Redness, swollen, pains, soreness of the udder with water like milk after 4-5 hours after initial milk. fever, temperature between 39.5-42 degree, reduced appetite or fasting. The mammary glands swollen hard like a stone. Seldom or never caused by necrobacillosis or C. aerogenic, the glands bubble, dark red blood milk. Most of them will be culling or death, very hard to treat.

1.1.4 Chronic obstinate mastitis: Abnormal milk (flakes or purulent secretion), have hard tumors, lumps in the udder, big or small, round or oval. Some udder swelling last months or years. It's the signs of too much antibiotics treatments, failure treatment with antibiotics, easy to recur hard to heal.

1.2 Therapeutic evaluation:

1.2.1 Recovery: Clinical signs of mastitis disappeared, the udder tissues soft, have no clot in milk, milk color as white as normal.

1.2.2 Effective: Clinical mastitis signs abatement, or no more exacerbation, milk is normal, but the swollen udder not disappeared properly.

2.Contrast treatment: its effective cure rates and average times of doses: QUARTERGAO (abbreviated to:QTG):external use, smear infected quarter, twice a day.

Masfrigao (MSG): intramammary infusion, twice daily.

Antibiotics: Penicillin (PCL) and Streptomycin (STR): intramuscular injection. twice a day.

Gentamicin Sulfate(GS):intramammary infusion. Twice a day.

Analgin 30%(ANA):intramuscular injection. twice a day. Large dose antibiotics fluid infusion(LDA). twice a day.

2.1 Treat Subacute Mastitis with QTG or QTQ & MSG combined, its effective cure rate & average times of doses:

Above result evidence that cure rate of QUARTERGAO & antibiotics combined group higher , and doses of antibiotics less thanks to the mating QUARTERGAO. Also the course of treatment 3 days shorter.

2.4 To cure Chronic Obstinate Mastitis, 3 treatments contrasted as follows: Table 4. (recovery=*, effective=**,effective cure rate=***)

From above table 4 we can see that antibiotics is working for inflammation control, but its cure rate for recovery very low, natural herbal medicine, QUARTERGAO group more higher but last 7 days. It's better use QUARTERGAO & antibiotics combined, the cure rate up to 75% have got a good result.

3. Typical cases:

3.1 H94301, rear left quarter was infected acute mastitis dated 1997.6.6, treated with PNC 4 M.IU + STR 4M.IU (im) almost 1 month, 2-3 doses daily, but the hard tumors in mammary gland still existing. From 1999.6.28 this chronic obstinate mastitis applied QUARTERGAO , the tumors disappeared, milk yield is recovery after 5 days application. No more relapse so far.

3.2 H4878, front left quarter was infected acute mastitis dated 2000.4.5. The mammary gland swelling disappeared after 1 dose of QUARTERGAO , but have clots in milk. 2 more doses ointment applied, the yield of milk recovery, no recurrence so far.

3.3 H97078, two rear quarters were infected severe systemic mastitis since 1999.6.11.temperature up to 42 C. After large doses of antibiotic fluid intravenous injection treatment plus antibiotic intramuscular & antibiotic intramammary infusion state of illness controlled till 1999.6.17. But in 1999.6.19 front left, front right & rear right total 3 quarters were infected severe systemic mastitis, milk like clear water, swollen udder. 1999.6.23 temperature & appetite going to normal after repeat above treatment, then applied supplement of QUARTERGAO said 3 quarters. 5 days later, color of milk recovery but still have clots, swollen udder. Continue application of QUARTERGAO to 1999.7.25 swelling disappeared, milk yield recovery, no relapse so far.

4. Conclusion:

4.1 As per the clinical cases, the rate of subacute mastitis & acute mastitis is 82% (137/168).The effective cure rate for natural herbal medicines treatment is 95%(75/79) have evidence natural herbal medicines can cure most cases of clinical mastitis.

4.2 For severe systemic mastitis, we treat it with antibiotics to control its systemic symptoms first, then apply external ointment QUARTERGAO & Masfrigao, the oil intramammary infusion so it inproved the effective cure rate, reduced times of does & course of treatment.

4.3 To treat chronic obstinate mastitis we applied external ointment to eliminate the hard tumors, swollen udder which caused by extended antibiotics but useless treatment. For our experience if the tumors & swollen udder were eliminated after QUARTERGAO application, recovery from this disease is hopeful. The curative effect rate for this disease up to 75% basis on our data.

4.4 According to our long-distance clinical experiences, we considering it have a broad prospects for dairy cow clinical mastitis to treat with QUARTERGAO & Masfrigao. Other than its shorter course of treatment, less cost of remedy, higher rate of curative effect, it is the remedy avoid antibiotics resistance & antibiotic residues in milk. reducing the unneedful economical loss for dairy milk industrial.
